Please read this before acting on any number this site produces. It is short, and it matters.

Never mix chemicals. In particular, never mix chlorine products with acid. Always add chemicals to water — never water to chemicals. Follow the product label and local regulations.

Pool and hot tub disclaimer

Chemical dosages, equipment sizing and cost estimates are approximate guidelines calculated from published industry formulas. Actual results vary with your water source, climate, pool condition, bather load and equipment. All calculators and content on this site are provided for informational and planning purposes only.

No professional advice

Results are estimates derived from the values you enter and from published formulas. They do not account for every site-specific condition. For critical decisions, consult a qualified pool professional.

Credentialed review policy

We separate our content into two tiers:

No review required — pure geometry and unit conversion (for example the pool volume calculator), and factual explanations that carry no dosing instruction.
Review required — anything that tells you how much of a chemical to add, or that interprets water balance into an action. These are published only after review by a Certified Pool Operator (CPO), and the reviewer is credited on the page.

Until a page has been reviewed, it carries no author credit and we do not publish our own dosing numbers on it. The current state of every constant is on the methodology page.

No warranty

This site and its tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or suitability of any result. While we work to keep the calculations correct and tested, we cannot guarantee every calculation is error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the calculators or any content on this site — including losses or damage resulting from decisions made on the basis of calculator output.

We may update these terms and the underlying constants. Material changes to a constant are recorded on the methodology page.
